The Triund Trek is one of the most popular weekend treks near McLeod Ganj and Dharamshala, offering stunning views of the snow-covered Dhauladhar range and the sweeping Kangra Valley below. Situated at 9,350 ft (2,850 m), this beginner-friendly trail is one of the easiest Himalayan treks and can be completed in a single weekend from Delhi or Chandigarh.
The 7–8 km trail from Dharamkot passes through beautiful forests of oak, deodar, and rhododendron, with colourful birdlife along the way and charming tea stalls to rest at. Overnight camping at Triund ridge under a canopy of stars, followed by a dramatic sunrise over the Dhauladhar peaks, is an experience that draws trekkers back year after year.
